Piccolino

News & Press title

The Amalfi lemon, or ‘Sfusato Amalfitano’, is no ordinary lemon. To the contrary, this prized variety can be immediately identified by its distinctly tapered shape, medium-large size, thick, rough, yellowish skin and an intense aroma thanks to a richness in essential oils. Furthermore, the flesh is particularly juicy, has a low number of seeds, and is rich in absorbic acid (vitamin C).

Produced on the tree all year round, the best fruit is obtained from spring to the end of autumn.  The production area of the Costa D’Amalfi lemons covers 500 hectares with an annual production of 120 thousand lemons.

The Amalfi/ Sorrento lemon is used extensively throughout Piccolino, and is a particularly important ingredient in our delicious Halibut dish.
